“As long as there is poverty in this world, no man can be totally rich even if he has a billion dollars.” Dr. King, “The American Dream” speech, 1961.
Today we have enough resources, in one area or another, to help feed all the poor people in the world. However, we as a global society have yet to figure out how to put the resources into collective action, and really attack poverty. On this day I encourage you to reflect on this reality and think of how you maybe able to help realize one of MLK's most promising dreams: Ending Poverty For All.
“There is nothing new about poverty. What is new, however, is that we have the resources to get rid of it.” Dr. King, Nobel Peace Prize address, 1964
“God never intended for one group of people to live in superfluous inordinate wealth, while others live in abject deadening poverty.” Dr. King, “Strength to Love”, 1963
